October 24, 2007 - OASYS Technology delivers the first Long Range Reduced Aperture Demonstrator (LRRAD) system to US Army Night Vision & Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) for final IDCA integration. LRRAD is an advanced 3rd Generation Sensor using a two-color infrared focal plane and variable F# cryogenic dewar being developed by the NVESD, Ft. Belvoir, VA. The LRRAD is intended to provide superior range performance to the existing LRAS3 (Long Range Scout Sensor Suite) which uses the 2nd Generation HTI B-Kit scanning sensor. The LRRAD accomplishes this performance with approximately 1/2 the volume and 1/3 the weight of the incumbent LRAS3.
